Make Your Own Teaching
Videos
This site
will be a constantly expanding source of technical resources that will
help you learn how to produce your own training videos. For each hour
of video that you make that conforms to our standards and needs and is
placed on our website, we will award you a $300 scholarship.
|
 |
|
To start this process, send us two samples of
your work, approximately two minutes in length. We will lead you
through the entire process, step-by-step, using downloadable
instructional videos that we have produced. In addition, we will
provide you with free technical support.
Once your two minute clips are approved - you may try more than
once - we will discuss and agree upon the specific details of the
video. A typical format is a series of lessons, each approximately two
to six minutes in length, each with a title. They will usually be
organized with a main subject heading, under which there will be
sub-headings. The title of each clip will be placed under the sub
headings. The entire lesson can be any length.

In order to create a good
video, you will need a firm
grasp of your subject matter (computer software, directions for using
audio-visual equipment, k-12 subjects, medical topics, or other
approved subject areas). You must have a clear speaking voice and be
able to explain your subject matter in a fluent fashion that is easy to
understand. Please read our website prior to applying.
Here is a simple example. Let's say that |
|
you were very knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, and we agreed that this
could be your topic. You would install a program called
HyperCam - we'll explain this later - and
plug a microphone into your sound card. Then you'd simply start Word.
With the format that we have provided, you would simply use your voice,
mouse, and keyboard to talk to the audience and demonstrate how Word
works. The program would make a video of what was happening on your
screen. If this seems complicated, don't worry. We'll make it even
easier by using instructional videos that will demonstrate the
video-making process.
